I hope they make a 10 cent fix that works across the board! They'll sell dozens of them!
xD Yes Paul, that will make a very successful company! With electricity, it's like the water, in my view. Untreated electricity is li...

Romy, I have had and keep having similar thoughts, off and on. For openers, re-visit the "Cautuionary Tale". Who knows how, but stuff seems just to get itself loose and/or out of adjustment. Not to mention the fricking electricity, ...

This post is the phono-relevant part of info carried over from my recent "better tubes" post in the ML2 thread.Subsequent listening has established that the electricity during that session was better than I'd thought at the time (dammit!). ...

Paul,I haven't been able to find the electricity thread. Can you give me the link?Vance...

Was it my old Audible Illusions pre-amp that kept lower voltage on all the time? But I was worried about constant 20% power causing constant 20% plate dissipation on my expensive NOS tubes, so I tested it and wound up unplugging it most of the time....

I should have said earlier that I have noticed the same thing, although I don't think I'm talking any 9 dB, here. For me, bad electricity not only makes for crappy, non-musical MF sounds but it also makes actual "sounds" come from the normally-"s...
I now feel a sort of responsibility toward other S2 … and still no cringing.
Well, I lost that responsibility long time ago. There are 6 external factors that besides everything affect the “cringing” of S2:...
I sent Mr Chow an e-mail, but have received no reply yet. However, the interesting thing is that tonight the music on the local classical channel was fantastic. Maybe the electricity was particularly good today? I think I am still...
Returning back to the subject…. While I was writing my last biting post a revelation stroke me how to resolve the electricity problems. I think I have invented a methodology according to which ALL problems with electricity...

Hey, Wojtek, nice to hear it worked out for you. And what did Retsel think? Can you and/or Retsel say what you did not like about the un-Bud-ed Lowthers in the same installation(s) and what the improvements are?I have been uneasy about "mere" "i...

Too hot to get hi-fi today, and I ran out of patience trying to to find the music.I'm pissed off enough to just spew right now, so here goes:Being in Southern California, my local power station happens to burn natural gas.Think hydro-carbon...
It turns out that Avicenna absolutely flawlessly and absolutely naturally cures electricity from all imaginable distortions and noises and feeds equipment with an absolutely perfect sinusoid; It is also turns out the Avicen...

Wifey went on an errand today and on a hunch I fired up the system to listen to some Schubert lieder and a piano sonata.Despite a dry east wind, it was not as hot as predicted, and despite schools in session, etc., the electricity was very good. ...

I ordered a unit at the end of December and was told it would be shipped in approx. one week. However they ran out of units and the delivery time will probably be the first week of February. I'm tying to maintain the patience of Romy. The only thin...

The new hours that I am hatching now has some funny electrical setting. The house owned by a guy who is retired electrician ME (Master Electrician) and he did a very good job with wiring. The house has 200A line with dedicated 100A subpanels. If beca...

I think it has already been stated. Batteries in audio are inherently of limited utility. It is a tendency of audiophiles to dedicate themselves to a single "silver bullet" instead of building the system based on the particular needs and compromises ...

Thanks Dave. Sounds like you have indeed bitten off a lot to chew on. At this point you might be describing cable swaps, etc. I hope you will share again when you are more comfortable with your set-up, since - for all the sharing - no one but Romy...

Miab, there are many solutions out there. Most of them from small companies. It is a niche market for sure. To try them all is almost impossible at least you want to expend a fortune. And end up with a bunch of useless gear as most I know do little t...

This weekend I made an interesting experiment. I had a visitor yesterday. The gay is not what I call overly critical and overly demanding listener but he is not a typical Audio Moron and has from my point of view a proper and sane react...

RCA LSC-2401 (stereo)Despite truly terrible electricity today there were some amazing moments from this LP. This is the first time I have I heard this record via my present system, and it warrants a recommendation despite the unbearable sound (due t...

With the late success in my battle with electricity I was slowly reviewing some of my things. What I detected that in context of good electricity I can set up my Injection Channel much more aggressive, let seat 2-3dB more than I did before (not it is...

The holly shit! How bad my electricity was in downtown and it was bad! However, here in suburb it is not even bad but 10 times worse. In city it just produced bad sound. Here, in West Woburn, it not just does bad sound but it almost translates the th...

To recap what I have said before, the issue is bad electricity, which makes your stereo much like aliving thing with tempermental moods. The same way that a steak can change from a sizzling, juicy tender delight to a cold greasy lump after being chil...

The problems with Smart Grids
by B. Blake Levitt and Chellis Glendinning
How is it that so many intelligent, inside-the-beltway environmentalists are buying into an eco-health-safety-finance debacle with the potential to increase...
The effects on sound can be described either globally or in details. Globally the music flows less, the sense of musical phrasing is diminished, sound tends to tighten, feel constricted, dynamics are also reduced. When trying to...

A few days back I went to a meeting of Boston Audio Society
where Dr. Wacks read lecture about electricity industry tendencies and it's transformation
toward smart grid. It is not that I have any interest in smart grid but I was curios

This weekend a friend of mine visited me to listen my playback and there was a very illustrative occurrence. We listening my audio and everything was like it should be in the program. He was visiting my last time in 2002-2003, before the Macondo was ...

For sure it is a good all together observation. I did not
read it to the end but scanned it to the end. I do not feel that it “great read”
however because it is written still from electrician prospective. The observation complied all that we know
So I'm wondering how things are going for the bold explorers who forked over their expectations for a whack at the PP2000. Have the things turned out to be Plug and Play along with All That, or is this yet another case whe...
